Beamdog has announced that classic isometric RPG Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be getting a major expansion later this year.

It's called Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear and is set between the first and second Baldur's Gate games. So, if you're familiar with the story, that's after the death of Sarevok but before the rise of Irenicus.

It has you approaching and eventually facing the leader of a crusade marching along the Sword Coast. It's led by a rumoured child of god (just like you) known as the Shining Lady.

"Baldur's Gate has put its faith in you, but you must determine whose interests you truly serve before you face the Shining Lady among the ruins of Dragonspear Castle..." reads the expansion's description.
Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear

Beamdog says that Siege of Dragonspear runs on the Infinity Engine and should last you at least 25 hours to play through.

You will need to own Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition to be able to purchase and play Siege of Dragonspear. And you'll be able to transfer your character across.

It'll be available on PC first with the iOS and Android version arriving shortly after. The pricing of the expansion hasn't been decided yet.

You can purchase Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for £7.99 / $9.99 on the App Store and Google Play right now.
