Could it be the best MOBA on Switch?

Arena of Valor heads to Switch this September

Arena of Valor finally has a solid release . . . month for Nintendo Switch, heading to the console this September. Tencent is bringing the hugely popular MOBA to Switch, and it could very well be the competitive game to watch on Nintendo’s popular handheld hybrid.

The Switch version will look pretty similar to the mobile version, although cross-play is not supported. However, players will be able to transfer unlocked characters and other rewards to the Switch version, but Tencent hasn’t laid out the specifics just yet.

Arena of Valor is a 5v5 MOBA featuring DC Comics heroes, that’s quite similar to League of Legends. Players defend their base while whittling away at their opponent’s defenses to conquer their rivals.

We played the Switch version earlier this summer, and we think it could be the definitive version of the game. Controller support makes for a much smoother experience as opposed to relying on touch controls, which could transform the way the game is played competitively.

Arena of Valor launches next month and will be free to play. Expect a specific release date to follow sometime soon.
