iOS + Android + 3DS ...

It's that time of the year again, folks, when friends, relatives, and companies you trust with your very heart and soul are allowed to hurt your feelings by lying to you.

All in the name of fun.

Well, we want to make sure you don't miss out on any of these thigh-slapping good times by bringing all of the mobile gaming-related pranks right to you.

Though, we're totally not encouraging it. Honestly.

Badland
By Frogmind

This is a relatively harmless joke - unless you still own a Nokia 3310.

Frogmind released a couple of screenshots that revealed what Badland would look like running on everyone's former favourite.

Now I want my Nokia 3310 back, Frogmind, you meanie!

I just love that trailer.

In case you're wondering what exactly is going on, Capcom developed a new trailer for the upcoming The Great Ace Attorney and replaced all of the characters with dogs.

You have to admire that commitment.

But, in all seriousness, that's the version I'm now most keen to play.

Google is the undoubted king of pranks and really pulled out the boat this year. Here's a roundup inside of a round-up.

ChromeSelfie

You can now take a selfie of yourself on any web page on Chrome mobile by tapping the three buttons and hitting 'share a reaction'. It's a prank but it actually works. Cool.

It's a panda that you can talk to and will answer you questions. Fun fact: you can shove your iPhone into a soft toy and create your own version.

Pac-Man / Google Maps mashup

Play this while you still have the chance - it's brilliant! Simply tap the Pac-Man button on Google Maps and you can play one of the greatest arcade games of all time right on the street you live on. Brilliant.

Motorola released an overly dramatic trailer for a new batch of vintage-style selfie sticks. I'm sure plenty of people actually found this believable and moving. Ha.

Samsung Galaxy BLADE Edge
By Samsung

A smart knife with a diamond-edged blade and sensors to check you're using it properly. Yawn.

Cyanogen
By Cyanogen

If Android users woke up to find this abomination running on their phones only later to discover it was a joke, then it's brilliant.

Cyanogen pretended to build and release a new version of Android powered by Microsoft. Yikes.

You Are The Winner! Go You!
By WayForward

Developer of the startingly brilliant platformer, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, WayForward, announced a brand new platformer, You Are The Winner! Go You!, featuring Gunster Megaboom, a mercenary who must travel back in time to prevent time travellers from preventing the apocalypse.

The best part about this prank is the new 'PlayForMe' technology that plays this ultra-difficult platformer for you. Not bad, WayForward, not bad.

Only readers of a certain age will get this little prank.

It's a smartphone in which you have to manually type what you want to do in MS-DOS - remember that?
