Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Today’s Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp update makes some pretty dramatic changes to Nintendo’s latest mobile adventure. Lots of new features, many of them hinted at over the past few months, finally make their debut. There might not be a Valentine’s event, but these changes will serve as a pretty good gift in their own right.

At long last, you’ll be able to dress up your animals in new collectible outfits upon reaching a certain friendship level. Each animal has their own distinct preferences -- you won’t be able to force your friends to don any old getup, you know.

If you’re not interested in fashion, there’s a new mini-game for you to fiddle with, too. At OK Motors, you can try your hand at Brake Tapper, a slot machine game that lets you gamble Friend Powder for bottle caps, which you can then use to collect special clothing, fancy furniture, or essences for all of your crafting needs.

Some major quality of life improvements come into play today, too. You can finally request help from 10 friends at once for Shovelstrike Quarry, decorate your campsite with multiple rugs, and you’ll notice flowers popping up in animal requests. Plus, in a throwback to Animal Crossing games of yore, you can find surprise items by popping balloons scattered on the game’s map interface.

Stay tuned for more updates to come, including five new characters. And as always, don’t forget to check out our rich tomes of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp tips and tricks. We’re updating them as Nintendo continues to roll out new events and updates for the game.
