Angry Birds Android 2-3 weeks away
QVGA support possible
So, have you had fun with the Angry Birds Lite Beta over the last week or so? Exhausted all 15 levels of bird pinging goodness?
The natural question now, then, is “when do we get the whole caboodle?”
According to a brief interview with Talk Android, Rovio claims the full version of Angry Birds is a mere two to three weeks away. The game appears to be complete, as the company is now “working hard to ensure that Angry Birds on Android will offer (the) best game experience for as many people as possible.”
So that means a lot of tweaking, based on user feedback, to ensure that the game runs silky smooth on each supported device.
Speaking of supported devices, a question was put to Rovio regarding “missing” handset support - specifically the HTC Wildfire and Hero. It seems as if Wildfire support is on the agenda, with the device’s screen type simply not being supported at present.
“We’re looking into trying to add support for QVGA devices” said Rovio.
Hero support looks less likely. “The game runs on the Hero, but there is a significant lag,” the company said. Given Rovio’s evident desire to have the game running nigh-on perfectly on all supported devices, we’re not holding out much hope.
