Sling birds at pigs in your own living room

Angry Birds AR: Isle of Pigs is available now for Android following its iOS release earlier this year

Angry Birds AR: Isle of Pigs was released earlier this year on iOS where it offered a fairly novel way to play the bird slinging physics game. As of today, it's also available on Android so now everyone can enjoy flicking birds at pigs in their own living room.

If you're unfamiliar with Isle of Pigs, it's pretty much the Angry Birds you'll either love or not with an augmented reality twist. You'll be able to summon the levels into the real world, whether that's your living room or you want to reign avians down on pigs in your garden.

That's not the whole story though, it isn't just for the novelty of seeing the pig's little structures juxtaposed with your furnishings. You'll be able to physically walk around their questionably constructed buildings to look for any weak points it may have and gain the best possible angle for your attack. The Android version of Isle of Pigs has launched with 78 levels, so that's plenty of porcine toppling to be getting on with for now. They will take place across a variety of different biomes, as you'd expect if you've played any of Rovio's previous efforts. Cities, jungles, deserts and ice hideouts are some of the types of locales you'll be slinging birds at.

As is often the case with augmented reality games these days you'll be able to adjust the size the levels appear in your surroundings. So if you're in a nice wide open space you can make the pig's structures lifesize or if you're cooped up in your bedroom you can make a miniature one to bring the birds vs pigs war to your desk.

Angry Birds AR: Isle of Pigs is now available through Google Play and the App Store. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
