The PlayStation Vita has been the star of the show today. Sony's underappreciated handheld certainly deserves it, the poor little thing.

We've found out that PlayStation Plus will be available on the Vita in November, PlayStation Mobile's out next month, there's a new Ninja Gaiden game heading to Vita, and there are loads of new Vita games from Japanese developers in the works.

Endless Climbers, from Urara-Works, is a strain on the old brain. You've got to control two characters at once, as they climb up and slide down a pair of ladders. If it's a little too tricky, you could always recruit a friend and play in co-op mode. Free on iOS and Android.

On the European PlayStation Store today, we've got new entries in the shape of PSone games Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Tall Unlimited (£3.99 each), and LittleBigPlanet Vita (£29.99).

Fancy bashing in some zombies on the cheap? Call of Duty: Zombies is now 69p / 99c on both iPhone and iPad, while Universal app Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is £1.49 / $1.99. They both have online multiplayer, so, yep, you can fend off the undead with friends.

Vertical shmup Phoenix HD has received a hefty great update today. There's a new teleporting player ship called Trinity, an armoury filled with buyable boosts, and some new leaderboards. You can synchronise scores across multiple devices now, too. Best of all, the game now fills the iPhone 5 screen.

Zen Pinball's got a new table, which features artwork from Marvel mash-up movie The Avengers. It will set you back £1.49 / $1.99 as an in-app purchase. The app itself is free, mind.

As we previously reported, 3D Realms and Machineworks want to use Kickstarter to bring two Duke Nukem mobile games to iOS and Android. The project is now live, with the team looking for $45,000. Come get some, and all that.

The PS Vita will be released in two dazzling new colours - if you live in Japan, that is. The console's coming out in Cosmic Red and Sapphire Blue, both of which sound like Pokemon games. Here are some official shots of the newly coloured gizmo.
