Kalypso has announced that the long-running management game series Airline Tycoon will be touching down on iOS and Android in the future.

It's in development by Montreal-based studio Norsfell Games. Kalypso chose this studio after a worldwide pitching process due to its "free-to-play expertise and fresh game design approach."

So, in all likeliness, this is going to be a free to play take on Airline Tycoon, then. Julian Maroda, Norsfell's CEO, also implied that it'll be a multiplayer game.

If you're not familiar, Airline Tycoon has been around on PC since 1998 and has you running an airline.

You usually have to compete for customers with other airlines, keep your planes in good shape, and manage personnel.

This mobile version will be the fourth mobile game publiished by Kalypso Media Mobile after it launched earlier this year.

The first game was Crowntakers, which was followed up by Wings! Remastered and Jump the Rope.

We don't know when Airline Tycoon will arrive on iOS and Android yet but we'll let you know as soon as it's announced.
