Cartoon Network bets big on mobile, debuts new IP created by Steven Universe's co-developer

Cartoon Network wanted to create a new IP. But instead of first broadcasting a show and then making some games around it, they decided to build a universe for a game directly.

Introducing OK K.O.! Lakewood Plaza, a brand new beat-them-all made by Ian Jones-Quartey the co-developer of the famous cartoon Steven Universe.

The game was developed by Double Stallion and is available now on iOS and Android... if you live in the U.S. As I'm writing this, I can't access the app outside of the U.S App Store so you might not be able to get it unless you use an account on that store.

Cartoon Network is also betting big on mobile by doing a public game jam from February 12 to February 14 in Portland, Oregon. The theme is to create a game around OK K.O.! Lakewood Plaza's universe.

It's refreshing to see such a big brand create a mobile first universe and I can't wait to see what else they have in store. But do a worldwide release next time pretty please.
