A little tweak here and there

Alas, Wednesday has crept up again and here we are chatting about updates and some of the teeny polishes to grace mobile games this week.

Personally I'm very confused as to the day since we had a bank holiday this Monday (where I spent the majority of it binge-watching my way through Disenchantment). Waking up this morning, I was fully convinced it was Tuesday, but apparently I'm wrong.

Anyway, I digress. Updates are always fun to dive into, especially when they bring game-changing tweaks or a little bit of extra content into the mix.

1
ARK: Survival Evolved

Err, I hope you've got some storage space saved for this one because ARK's latest update is a big 'un.

As well as more features/resources added to the God Console (from Version 1.0.92), you can also say hello to the Baryonyx, adorn your beasties with adorable collars to get buffs, and enjoy a whole host of changes.

2
Candy Crush Jelly Saga

Yes, it's time for the latest level update for all of your sweet, jiggly playtime. Sorry, that sounded weird.

There's a brand new Episode to jump on and 15 more levels to attempt to beat. I mean, if you've made it to the point where you've dominated the game and are waiting for these levels to come out, good on you.

3
Fortnite

  • Platform: iOS/Android

You've probably messed about with the various rifts in Fortnite by now right? Well, fun as they are, it'd be cool to call on them when you feel like getting out of a tricky situation.

Lucky you - such a thing now exists as the Rift-To-Go has cropped up for your dizziest needs. There's also been some fine-tuning of the game's Playground Mode and some more areas added to explore. Well, if you don't get sniped in the face first.

Oh, and if you want to be super duper current, there's also the brand-new Shockwave Grenade to play about with. This thing's so powerful you can launch people through structures and all.

Pokemon GO

Yes, alright, I know this one's a week old by now, but it evaded me in last week's update list and is well worth shouting about. In Pokemon GO you can now use QR codes to add friends and have an improved Pokemon Collect search function where you can search using 'Lucky' to narrow things down.

You've also got map details for PokeStops on your screens, a simple notification to keep you updated on gifts and friendship levels, the ability to hide recently caught Pokemon from friends, and more.

5
Rodeo Stampede

Keeping things short and sweet for this addictive arcade auto-runner, there's been a bit over an overhaul on the Shop's UI and there's a new IAP which gives you the chance to increase Rare Animal sightings.

If you fancy hopping back to the Jurassic Zone you might encounter a brand new dinosaur and you can give your characters a bit of a makeover.

6
ROME: Total War

In case you missed out, ROME: Total War recently popped up on iPhone so there's been a lot of iPhone-related tweaks and changes over the past week.

I won't list them all out since you can see them in detail over on the App Store (above), but there's a huge amount to get your head around. The Battle UI can be hidden, the card bar can be expanded to display larger unit/building cards, a new iPhone-specific UI has been added, the camera can be tilted manually, and much, much more.

The Sims Mobile

Alright, alright, this one's from a week ago too, but you'll be pleased I brought it up. Why? Because the Waterfront District is here, hurrah!

That means you've got the Science and Wellness Centres to explore, get to experiment in the research lab, get a look at what it is to be a Marine Biologist, tread down the Wellness Guru careerm and (of course) get to discover all of the Waterfront's secrets.

8
TerraGenesis

TerraGenesis has two main things it's touching on this week. Over on Android it's getting some spit and polish on the game in general and it's brought the Turkish language into play.

Over on iOS things are a little beefier as the game's Unity version has finally come to iPhone and iPad. Aside from making it easier to keep the game up-to-date, you can now switch between colonies without going back to the Planet screen, and more to come.
