Amazon shuts off access to its Appstore for non-US customers once again

Just a day after we excitedly found out that Amazon had sneakily launched its Appstore for Android service across the globe, the world’s largest retailer has only gone and shut it down.

Any attempts at accessing the selection of free Android apps outside of the United States will now be met with a curt ‘this service is not available in your country’.

We did have an inkling at the time that the service had gone live around the world by mistake, given the absence of any official word on the launch - something you’d expect Amazon would be rather keen to heavily promote.

As before, no word on when the Appstore for Android will appear on England’s green fields, but we’ll let you know if and when we get it.

In the meantime, you can always try my ('completely legal') way of circumnavigating the international blockade in this handy guide.
