Free-to-play online games specialist Aeria Games opens new mobile studio
And announces deal to bring social card game Monster Paradise to the Western market
Global publisher of free-to-play online games Aeria Games has recently created a new mobile studio, Aeria Mobile, which will focus on delivering multiplayer experiences for the core gaming segment of the mobile market.
This new studio has revealed a partnership with Japanese developer Pokelabo that will bring the latter's hit mobile social card game Monster Paradise to Western markets.
If you're unfamiliar with the game (which we imagine you are), it thrusts you into the role of a monster tamer. You can combine your critters to produce even more powerful monsters, and work together with your buddies from Facebook and Twitter to overcome enemy threats.
The two companies will also team up to release other titles based on Pokelabo's IP worldwide.
It's the magic numberAeria Mobile revealed another three titles prior to the Monster Paradise announcement: Eden Eternal: Monster Arena, an anime-infused accelerometer-based shooter that features RPG elements; Tuff Tanks, a turn-based artillery shooter in which you can complete missions alone or battle up to seven of your buddies; and Armygeddon, a turn-based strategy title that offers an episodic single-player campaign and asynchronous multiplayer battles.
"Our new Aeria Mobile division allows the 35 million core players that love our games to extend their multiplayer online experience onto mobile devices," Lan Hoang, CEO of Aeria Games, said.
"We will bring the Aeria Games experience to both new players and existing fans in the fast-growing but underserved mobile core gaming arena."
