You'll be hearing a lot more about Flash Lite in the year ahead. It's a technology invented by Adobe, that brings the web-based Flash player to mobile phones. In a gaming context, this means you'll be able to play Flash games just as you would online.

So far, it's been hard to actually get hold of Flash Lite games, even though the player is preloaded on an increasing number of phones. That's changing though: Selatra has just announced three new Flash Lite games all based on retro classics.

Meteors is a space-based shoot'em up, as is Invasion, while Reversi is, well, reversi. You know, the game otherwise known as othello.

All three games were developed by US firm JRVisuals. What's more, Selatra says it's planning to release more Flash Lite games in the near future.

"The latest figures from Adobe show that shipments of Flash-enabled devices have passed the 200 million mark, confirming we were right to have faith in the market," says CEO Sean Cronin.

"We firmly believe casual gaming will grow strongly as consumers seek to bring their PC console experience to the mobile, and play their favourite Flash games while on the go."
