After much anticipation, Adobe AIR is now available for Google's Android OS.

The cross-platform environment is built around the 10.1 version of Flash Player, and provides developers with the tools to build standalone applications and games without the need to embed the code in a browser.

There's already a selection of Flash games available on Android, and this number is certain to grow over the coming weeks as Flash developers can create applications for the Android Market without needing to learn new techniques.

To install AIR, make sure you're running Android 2.2, then simply run the Market application on your Android handset and search for Adobe AIR.
