Iron Dragon, an action-adventure title created specifically for touchscreen devices, has won Activision's Independent Games Competition, nabbing its developer, Christopher Hui, a cool $175,000 in the process.

"We were excited with the quality, creativity, and diversity we saw in the submissions we received for the Games Competition," Dan Winters, Activision's VP of external development, said.

"While the games themselves varied, the unifying theme for everyone involved in the competition has been passion. The energy and enthusiasm of the indie community continues to inspire us and we're thrilled to help make their dreams become reality."

Fellow developer Michael Stanton walked away with $75,000 after finishing in second place with multiplier action title Planet Smashers.
