Ric Cowley joins the Pocket Gamer team as our new Editor
|

Our previous Editor, Glen Fox, sadly left Pocket Gamer in the new year, but we're delighted to be welcoming Ric Cowley into the team as the big ol' boss man.

Ric, if you're not familiar with the name from his impressive list of reviews, previously worked at our sister site, PocketGamer.biz, as Deputy Editor. He'll be bringing Pocket Gamer up and away in this next leg of its journey, including guiding the site in its long-awaited relaunch later this year.

Though he's been with Steel Media professionally for over two years, and was an intern with the company before that, he previously wrote for publications such as SCAN: Student Comment and News, GamingLives, and snapped up an English Language degree at Lancaster University.

"I'm delighted for Ric, who has been a strong member of the editorial team for several years and will be awesome in the new role," says Steel Media CEO Chris James. "There can be few editors in 2018 who know as much about mobile gaming, plus he's young, hungry, and ready to light a fire under our market-leading consumer mobile games site and push PocketGamer.com to the next level."

"We're thrilled to see Ric Cowley take on the editorship of PocketGamer.com," said Steel Media COO Dave Bradley. "He's risen through the ranks and proved his worth with years of front line editorial on Steel Media websites, and he's ready to bring his expertise and experience to our flagship brand."

Anyone who follows him on his personal Twitter will know of his taste for obscure indie games as well as his ultimate favourites: Alto's Odyssey, Neko Atsume, and Egg Inc.

While we're celebrating, since we've nabbed Ric for ourselves Steel Media has just hired two amazing new staff writers. Louise Saul will be in charge of news and features, with a focus on PCGamesInsider.biz, and Iain Harris will be setting up shop as PocketGamer.biz's new news and features writer. Congrats, guys!

Please join us in congratulating Ric in his new role. We know Pocket Gamer will truly come on in leaps and bounds under his care, and we're excited to see what the future will bring.
