A Little Bit of... Puzzle League coming to DSiWare

When Planet Puzzle League (aka Puzzle League in the US) was released on the DS back in June 2007, we were less than impressed by the bottom up Touch! Generation block puzzler. Sure it offered a great four-way multiplayer mode, but the basic match-3 mechanic wasn't much to talk about.

"Part Tetris, with a dash of Meteos - which uses exactly the same horizontal block move gameplay, and is much prettier - and just a pinch of Bejeweled make this something of a puzzle stew," reckoned our reviewer Tracy.

Still Nintendo must think there's some spark there as it's releasing A Little Bit of... Puzzle League as a DSiWare download.

This cutdown version of the game is single player-only, offering four modes: Endless, survive to earn a top score; Clear, eliminate all blocks above the line; Score Attack, score as high as possible in two minutes; and Vs. COM, use items and combos to attack a computer opponent.

You can also choose from a variety of background music, and play in horizontal or vertical mode, holding the Nintendo DSi normally or like a book as you desire.

A Little Bit of... Puzzle League is released on the European DSi Shop on 17th July at the cost of 500 Nintendo Points (€5 or £4.50).
