Steel Crazy After All These Years
Nokia's new 3G handset toughens up for life on the street and in your pocket
Nokia’s latest 3G handset has more to offer the Pocket Gamer than most handsets, with a high-resolution 320 x 240 display and stereo speakers, making it ideal for entertaining you on those long bus journeys. It’ll be tough enough to withstand being thrown in a bag or stuffed into a pocket when not in use, too, thanks to its steel frame. But if you’re expecting a real heavyweight, you’ll be pleasantly surprised; it tips the scales at 110g, just 15g more than Motorola’s slimline Razr.
The usual 3G accoutrements are present and correct; a 2 megapixel camera and digital music player round out an impressive specification. And the fact that it’s a Nokia, and therefore running the Symbian operating system, means it’ll be widely compatible when it comes to games.
It’s expected to cost around £250 when it arrives in spring, 2006.
