Renegade Kid - of Mutant Mudds and Moon fame (the DS game, not the celestial body) - will launch its latest indie adventure on the 3DS eShop next week, in North America.

It's called Xeodrifter, and you play as an interstellar hobo who is forced to explore a cluster of planets in the omega sector after an asteroid damaged his warp core. We've all been there, right?

So he'll have to explore these alien landscapes, seeking out secrets and defeating ancient alien guardians to unlock new powers and areas. You'll also get upgrades to extend your health, and you'll find custom gun enhancements.

Xeodrifter

So far, very Metroid. But check out those adorable tiny-pixel graphics. And you can hop between the foreground and background like in Mutant Mudds and there are sections where you fly your ship between planets.

The game will cost ten earth dollars. No word yet on a European release date.
