A fungus mystery among us - new Touch Detective game in the works for 3DS, but will it come to the west?
Shroom for speculation
There's a mystery worthy of Mackenzie and her mushroom sidekick Funghi afoot!
A new installment of the beloved Touch Detective series has been announced for the Nintendo 3DS - Touch Detective Rising 3: Does Funghi Dream of Bananas? - but there's no word yet on whether it will come to the west.
Also in the mystery column is what the wide-eyed Mackenzie did to run afoul of Shiro, an ambitious rival detective introduced in Touch Detective Rising 3 who's out to become the best sleuth in the world.
We do know one thing for certain, however: bananas, or at least Banana Ice stands, will somehow factor into the game.
A touching mysteryTouch Detective is a beloved series of games that started out on the Nintendo DS before migrating over to iOS and - later - Android.
The series stars Mackenzie, a young but determined detective who inherits her father's detective agency. In the course of solving cases involving everything from misplaced items to stolen dreams, Mackenzie meets up with Funghi - a friendly and sentient mushroom who helps her sniff out clues.
We'll be sure to keep our magnifying glasses trained on the trail of Touch Detective Rising 3 in case news of a western localization is announced at E3.
