They may not have a powerful franchise star like Mario or Star Fox behind them, but both The Rolling Western and Picture Lives! still look like interesting titles coming to the eShop.

The Rolling Western appears initially to be the more traditional of the two, and features an armadillo that rolls around a cartoon desert world, solving puzzles, and - wait - building towers?

While it may at first look like a riff on the Zelda template, Rolling Western features a fair amount of tower defence play as well, with upgradable fortifications and large marching monsters making their way towards your towns.

In similar genre mash-up fashion, Picture Lives! involves popping a variety of limbs and bodies onto a monster with the stylus, customising the colour, shape, and everything in-between.

What is of particular interest is that your creations gain abilities associated with their various limbs (you did draw some limbs, right?), so you can smash blocks by using your long legs to throw your body against them, or fly using the wings you confusingly put on the monster’s head.

There’s no exact release date or price for either titles just yet, but we expect them to be out before the end of 2011.
