The Legend of Legacy is a new 3DS JRPG from the SaGa series creators heading to the Americas

Atlus is bringing Japanese studio FuRyu's spiritual successor to the SaGa series to the Americas this autumn. It's called The Legend of Legacy (seriously) and will be available on 3DS.

The team that created the game includes illustrator Tomomi Kobayashi (SaGa series), composer Masashi Hamauzu (SaGa, Final Fantasy XIII), writer Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger), game designer Kyoji Koizumi (SaGa series), and Masataka Matsuura (999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors).

The Legend of Legacy gives you seven playable characters to explore the mysterious island of Avalon according to their own agendas. This includes looking for treasure, recovering lost memories, and looking for the "god."

It has turn-based combat and lets you form your own formations for your party of three.

This means you can switch up which character is attacking, defending, or supporting. So, yes, this is a classless JRPG. Oh, and you can switch up the formation between turns too.

The western version of The Legend of Legacy has been tweaked according to player feedback. This means it'll have slight differences compared to the Japanese version.

The game will be sold in retail and digital stores for $39.99/ CA$49.99 this autumn. There's currently no word on a European version.
