The Binding of Isaac may come to 3DS after all

After being nixed by Nintendo earlier this year, the controversial action-RPG The Binding of Isaac may have a chance at resurrection.

Edmund McMillen, the game's creator, says that an updated version of The Binding of Isaac might appear for 3DS within a year, pending its approval by Nintendo.

The updated version of The Binding of Isaac will not just be an update to the version released on Steam, however. It will feature new graphics and music along with plenty of new content like characters, items and enemies.

For fans of the game, it will be a veritable godsend.

It just might be a miracle

McMillen cannot guarantee that Nintendo will approve the new version of The Binding of Isaac, and he candidly places its chances for approval at "50/50".

The Binding of Isaac features gameplay similar to the iconic 8-bit Legend of Zelda, infused with religious themes and symbolism as the plot follows the biblical tale of The Binding of Isaac.

When submitted to Nintendo back in February, Nintendo passed on the game due to its 'questionable religious content'.
