Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros., has said that Mewtwo will be playable in the game "pretty soon."

He made this announcement during a livestream in which he talked about Smash Bros. The video above is a clip from the stream in which Sakurai addresses Mewtwo's arrival in the game.

He says that the Pokémon character is "pretty much done," and says to continue waiting until the announcement of when it will be available. "We plan to release Mewtwo pretty soon," he says at the end.

Nintendo announced previously that Mewtwo will be available for free to everyone who purchased Super Smash Bros. on both the Wii U and 3DS.

Japan will also be able to buy Mewtwo as a DLC character. This option hasn't been announced for the west yet but it will likely happen.
