To say we liked the original SteamWorld Dig on 3DS would be a little bit of an understatement.

We gave it a glittering Platinum Award, and heaped upon it the sort of praise that rarely leaves our scowling lips.

"SteamWorld Dig is an utterly phenomenal video game, with layer upon layer of remarkable gameplay to be found," we gushed.

We then added that the game "isn't simply the best Nintendo 3DS game you've played - it's one of the best games you'll play this year".

So, you can imagine how excited we all are at Casa del Pocket Gamer about the news that a new SteamWorld game is on the way. It's like Christmas has come in October... and it's not disappointing and full of arguments.
Is it ready yet? Speaking to Nintendo Life at the recent Eurogamer Expo in London, Image & Form's Brjann Sigurgeirsson revealed that the team has been working on the next instalment in the SteamWorld series for a while.

"We've come quite far developing the next game in the SteamWorld series, and we're waiting for the right moment to announce more details."

Hopefully, the right moment is soon, otherwise it's likely Pocket Gamer Towers is going to explode from enormous collective anticipation.
