During the post-E3 interview between Nintendo president Satoru Iwata and chief game producer Shigeru Miyamoto, the dynamic duo picked out a bunch of classic franchises that'd work great on the 3DS.

Hey, so did we in the feature "Top 10 games we want on the fancy new Nintendo 3DS," and guess what: SNES flying sim Pilotwings headlined both of our lists.

And now a 3DS take on game has been confirmed for the fancy new hardware, titled Pilotwings Resort and shown off on the publisher's E3 website.

The screens show you flying over a tropical island, navigating your plane through hoops. According to the Nintendo executives, the 3DS's extra dimensions makes mid-air manoeuvres a whole lot easier.

The screenshots also show a Mii-like (the avatars on Nintendo Wii) character boosting into the sky with a jetpack. See them both in our gallery above.
