Game Boy titles headed for Nintendo 3DS as Virtual Console downloads
Game Boy Advance and DS games to be offered too
Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and "classic" games will be made available for play on Nintendo 3DS as downloads.
In a welcome expansion to the publisher's Virtual Console, Nintendo is pledging to re-release legacy handheld games for Nintendo 3DS.
Two titles were presented by the company during an event covered by Andriasang: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and Super Mario Land (pictured here).
Also included in the mix will be "classic" games, which presumably references NES titles such as Super Mario Bros. and Metroid.
It's unclear whether Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and classic games will appear for sale beginning on the Japanese launch date for Nintendo 3DS on February 26th or later.
Nintendo 3DS will launch in the US and Europe in March 2011.
