Nintendo revealed today at the Nintendo World conference in Tokyo that its upcoming 3DS will have enough juice on a full charge to run for three to five hours, depending on the brightness setting of the screen.

This puts the machine’s battery life at a level significantly lower than previous DSs, with Nintendo itself officially putting the running time of the DS Lite at 19 hours on the lowest brightness settings.

I’d be mightily surprised if anyone actually managed to get 19 hours' playing time out of a DS Lite, mind.

The 3DS will take around three-and-a-half hours to charge to full power, so if you don’t want to spend more than half your play time with the machine plugged into the mains, I suggest you look for dark corners to sit in and reduce the brightness level before you start.
