Incoming! The most exciting 3DS games for June 2015

3DS

June is not an incredibly busy month for Nintendo 3DS gamers, but there's a good selection on offer for everyone.

Most Nintendo fans will be pleased to see Dr. Mario receiving his first handheld outing in a while, and there are new games featuring Lego dinosaurs, mud monsters, and chickens.

Here's hoping for a nice, big publisher sale to pop up again. Or - hah - a Nintendo sale. Seriously Nints, I want to buy all your titles digitally, but it's not going to happen at £40 a pop.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven
Marvelous Inc. / Xseed Games - 2nd (North America), 4th (Europe)

Not to sound like I'm casting aspersions, but Lord of Magna really does look like something I would have expected on the PlayStation Vita.

Top-down, turn-based strategy JRPG? Check. Absurd enemies? Check. Sexy elf heroines? Check. Oh, I get it now... "made in heaven." Oh dear.

Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure
Arika / Nintendo - 11th (North America, Europe)

This remastered compilation includes the classic Dr. Mario, the Wii U spinoff Dr. Luigi, and an all-new mode called Miracle Cure. With heaps of multiplayer options including download play, this may be the best Dr. Mario yet. It had better have a good Chill remix.

LEGO Jurassic World
TT Games / Warner Bros. - 12th (North America, Europe)

Pretty much what you're expecting if you've played a LEGO franchise game before. Smash up and collect LEGO bricks over 20 stages based on the four Jurassic Park films.

You can play as one of a hundred different characters. Were there really that many in the series? All we need is Dr. Ian Malcolm.

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley
Natsume / Rising Star Games - 19th (Europe)

Okay heads-up: This isn't a "real" Harvest Moon. In the sense that it's not made by Marvelous, who have worked on every other Harvest Moon game in the series.

It's been out a while in the US, and hasn't fared too well, but if you're dying to farm s'more, well... this is it for 2015 unless we get Story of Seasons.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3
Omega Force / Koei Tecmo - 24th (Europe), 30th (North America)

A fair bit of hacking, and a whole load of slashing. The Musou series returns with customisable male and female characters, and features previously found in the Xtreme Legends series.

Disappointingly, the Link and Zelda costumes won't be making it into the western version of the game. Seems very odd when they would have been a great amiibo unlock.

Mutant Mudds Super Challenge
Renegade Kid - some time in June (North America)

This is the Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels for the Mutant Mudds series. 40 fiendish levels to test even those who've mastered the original.

Japanese highlight:

Rhythm Tengoku: The Best+
Nintendo SPD - 11th (Japan)

The fourth title in Nintendo's tap 'em up Rhythm Heaven series compiles the best games from the GBA, DS, and Wii iterations. Super stylised, dastardly addictive fun that you simply must give a shot. Think WarioWare: The Rhythm Game.

Chance for localisation: 75%. The DS and Wii versions eventually made their way to the West, so I'd bet Nintendo is strongly considering localising it. There's so little text to translate that it makes perfect sense.
