You can still register for the Nintendo Ambassador program

Missed the deadline? Here's a second chance

You can still register for the Nintendo Ambassador program

Nintendo dropped the price of its 3DS console earlier this month, and revealed that everyone who registered their console before August 12th was now a 'Nintendo Ambassador'.

What that essentially means is if you visited the eShop before August 12th you're going to get a ton of free games before the year is up. 20, to be precise.

However, you may well be kicking yourself right now for forgetting to register your console in time, even though you're eligible.

Never fear! You may be very silly, but Nintendo is prepared to give you another chance. If you didn't register your console before August 12th, you can still use your original receipt or proof of purchase from when you bought the console.

Simply dig that out and then visit The Nintendo Ambassador website, which will be updating soon to allow you to register your console for the program.

Previous users who have already registered will also be able to use the site to check that their consoles are registered for the service.

Oh, and if you bought a 3DS after August 12th, you won't be able to register for the program, no matter whether you have the receipt or not. Sorry.
