Looking for a good reason to get Nintendo's super-sized 3DS XL this Christmas? Well, if you register the system on Club Nintendo before January 15th, you'll walk away with a free game.

A top-notch free game, too. You can pick from:

When you register your system on Club Nintendo, you'll get sent a code for the console's eShop. Redeem this code - any time between January 1st and January 31st - and your free game will be downloaded to your SD card.

How to register

First up, you need to find your Club Nintendo pin number. This is on a red piece of paper inside the console's box, and looks a bit like this:

Then, head to the Club Nintendo website, click on 'Register a product', and type that code into the box provided.

Once you've answered a long and boring questionnaire about the console, you'll be able to click on a button to choose your free game. Your code will be delivered via email.

Already registered your 3DS XL before today? Don't worry: just head into the 'My Account' tab inside Club Nintendo and you'll find a link to the promotion there.

This offer is valid in the UK & Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and Russia.

What game will YOU pick, then?
