3DS XL to be packaged with power adapter in North America

Nintendo’s gargantuan update to the 3DS caused ruptures in the fabric of the Internet when it was announced that the portable would be shipping minus the ever-so-slightly necessary power adapter.

However, while us Europeans and our Japanese cousins will still be deprived of the only way to charge the device, it appears US gamers will, in fact, be getting the AC adaptor with the console.

Cost-saving countermeasures

The reason Nintendo of Japan and Europe have taken the decision not to include the adaptor in the box is apparently intended as a cost-cutting measure.

This cost-cutting doesn't seem to have made any impact on the price though as the 3DS XL looks to be shipping at around £179.99-£210 ($280-$326), while the US model is just $199.99.
