Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham has confirmed on Twitter that his company is working on a sequel to rock-solid retro platformer Mutant Mudds.
"Yes, Mutant Mudds 2 is confirmed," Watsham revealed when pressed for confirmation by a fan of the franchise.
According to Watsham, Mutant Mudds 2 will be released on Nintendo's eShop. A release date is yet to be confirmed, but Watsham's hoping the follow-up will appear sometime this year.
Getting physical
Interestingly, Watsham has also been gauging the Mutant Mudds community's interest in a physical 3DS cartridge that would house both Mutant Mudds and Mutant Mudds 2.
"RT if you would buy a Mutant Mudds 1 & 2 combo pack on cartridge for 3DS!" he tweeted.
Watsham later revealed that the proposed combo pack had been retweeted 105 times and been 'favourited' ten times.

Updated on January 4th, at 15:00: In a previous version of this article, we said that Mutant Mudds 2 was due for release "this quarter". Renegade Kid informs us that the game does not have such a specific release window at this point. Expect it sometime this year.
