Nintendo introduces cross-buy to Wii U and 3DS with Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars

About time!

Nintendo introduces cross-buy to Wii U and 3DS with Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, the next installment in the series, will be the first Nintendo game available for cross-buy across the Wii U and 3DS.

That means a single $20 USD purchase of the downloadable puzzle game on either the Wii U or the Nintendo 3DS will land you the other version for free.

This is something Nintendo has been pretty late in implementing.

Sony already offers cross-buy and cross-play for games across their Sony consoles and Vita handheld, as does Apple across its own devices.

Still, it's never too late to start, right?

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars lands on the Nintendo eShop on March 5th in North America and March 20th in Europe.

It will cost $20 USD, with the UK price still unreported.

One of the earliest installments of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, received a Bronze Award from us.

Our review, from way, way back in 2007, called it a "bright, addictive, and thoroughly recommended puzzle game."
