EA's Madden NFL Football launching with the 3DS

Electronic Arts has revealed that the first EA Sports title on Nintendo 3DS will be a new instalment in its popular Madden series.

Madden NFL Football promises to be a comprehensive title, with a variety of play modes and features. Standard 11-on-11 football is complemented by the fast-growing 5-on-5 flag football and, as usual, there's an all-inclusive Season Mode.

For the aspiring Bill Belichicks out there, Madden NFL Football will feature a versatile system for calling plays. The Call Your Shots tool will allow users to draw new plays directly on the screen.

Combining such tactical freedoms with a selection of 3D displays and features, such as 'Spotlight Moments', should make for an immersive experience beyond anything we've seen before in a Madden title.

Madden NFL Football is due in the first half of 2011.
