Kingdom Hearts 3D gets limited edition 3DS system, launches March 29th in Japan

Square Enix has revealed a limited edition Kingdom Hearts-branded Nintendo 3DS, set to launch in Japan alongside the latest entry to the series.

The handheld appears to be a lighter shade of cosmos black (one of the colours that launched with the system) and features a Kingdom Hearts pattern on the lid.

The console was announced alongside the March 29th release date for Japanese version of the generously titled Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

An exclusive AR card will be packaged with the first print of Dream Drop Distance and is used to unlock a rare Dream Eater, a character who can fight alongside Kingdom Hearts stars Sora and Riku.

Dream Drop Distance will be heading to our shores sometime later this year. We've contacted Square Enix to find out if the fancy 3DS will also be taking the trip overseas.
