One of this week's new Nintendo 3DS eShop games might strike a familiar chord with iOS gamers.

As pointed out by Official Nintendo Magazine's Matthew Castle, upcoming 3DS game Groove Heaven looks a lot like Simogo's rhythm-driven stealth-'em-up Beat Sneak Bandit.

In that iOS game, you had to tap to the beat of the background music to move. This helped you tiptoe through heavily guarded mansions, and escape from dangers that moved like clockwork.

As for this upcoming eShop game? Well, just check out the press materials for the game below:

"Time your steps right, keep to the beat to get moving and grooving away from oncoming danger. Dance under leaping frogs and past black crows, as you collect musical notes and red roses for bonuses."

This isn't the first time that someone's borrowed the unique gameplay of Beat Sneak Bandit.

Earlier this year, a CBBC browser game called The 4 O'Clock Club Rap a Tap Game that was also clearly heavily inspired by Simogo's app went live.

Groove Heaven, which was developed by Japanese studio Peakvox and will be published by Polish outfit Teyon, will hit the eShop on Thursday for £3.59.

It will be joined by the likes of Swords & Soldiers 3D; a free demo for Project X Zone; and downloadable versions of Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. We'll have more on all that in our regularly scheduled eShop report later this week.
