Classic Japanese RPG Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers getting 3DS port

The Nintendo 3DS has had its fair share of stereoscopic 3D game ports up to now, and it looks like the barrage is set to continue. Japanese developer and publisher Atlus has just revealed that the Sega Saturn and PSone RPG Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is getting a 3D makeover.

The game, originally launched in 1997 in Japan, is a sequel to Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, another Japanese RPG that you most likely haven't played, either. The games were well received, so this port is good news for 3DS fans who didn't play the original.

The 3DS version of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers will feature new opening animations and battle animations; shorter loading times; and full voice acting for the entire game.

It's set for release on August 30th in Japan. Unfortunately, it sounds like the chances of us getting it in Europe are very slim, given that the originals never saw the light of day here.

In any case, feel free to click the screenshot above and see what you're missing out on.
