Product: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
Atlus USA gave fans of the Shin Megami Tensei Persona roleplaying games an early Christmas present on Wednesday when it confirmed that Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers would come to the US in the spring of 2013.
The port of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is an update to the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off title of the same name that launched in Japan in 1997.
When the 3DS port Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers was announced back in April, it was only confirmed for release in Japan. Now, thanks to Atlus USA, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers will finally be available to Persona fans in the west. Conversations with demons
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers combines standard elements from the Persona series of games with a distinct cyberpunk culture that's reminiscent of Ghost in the Shell.
In Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, players will make deals with demons and use them to do battles with other, less cooperative demons. Presumably, hacking is involved as well.
Destructoid notes that Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers will receive a full English localization and will also offer 30 new demons, a new opening theme, better controls, and better load times.
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is available for pre-order now, although there's no sign of the usual pre-order incentives that Atlus has been fond of including lately.
We'll keep you updated should a firm release date - or news of a European version - materialize.
