Colin Fuller sent around an email to some of the players of his Silver Award-winning mix of Minesweeper and dungeon crawling Cavesweeper.

Having played it my iPad quite a bit over the past year I was one of the people who received the email.

In it, Fuller asks if any of its current players would enjoy the game on the New Nintendo 3DS too.

"What do you think about a Kickstarter to pay someone to port the game to Nintendo 3ds eShop?" Fuller asks. "It could be called Cavesweeper X or Cavesweeper II."

Fuller is hesitant to make the leap towards the 3DS with Cavesweeper as it has started out as a Flash game on mobile, and believes that may instantly put people off.

However, he did say that he's "hype about the New 3DS because the 3D is much improved and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is coming out on it.

"And I think Cavesweeper would be AMAZING in 3D and with the proper coding."

So, what do you say all you New 3DS owners, would you play Cavesweeper on it? How about contributing towards a Kickstarter to make it happen?

As said, we gave the mobile version a Silver Award, saying that it's "a fun and accessible take on Minesweeper that should make retro game fans quite happy." Read more about it here.

Fuller will be listening in to read your answers.
