E3 2014 - Nintendo 3DS will get Amiibo NFC figures and podium peripheral in 2015

Nintendo unveiled a range of NFC-powered figures called Amiibo at E3. And while they'll launch for Wii U this winter, a Nintendo 3DS peripheral will hit shops in 2015.
These little toys feature characters like Mario, Samus, Link, and the Wii Fit trainer. When popped on the 3DS podium they will appear inside certain games.
Plus, information from the game stored on the Amiibo figure. In Smash Bros for Wii U, for example, you can customise special moves, stats, and tactics to have a personalised Yoshi Amiibo.
We'll find out more about what this will mean for 3DS gamers in the coming months.
