While Konami's Pro Evolution series hasn't quite found its feet on DS and PSP in the same way that it's become the footie game of choice on other consoles (and whatever happened to that mobile version?) sticking the face of Cristiano Ronaldo (last season's UK Footballer of the Year, Player of the Year, and Young Player of the Year) on the box has to be good for business.
Manchester United fans of Ronaldo will be hoping the form of previous Pro Evolution-marketing star Thierry Henry doesn't rub off, however. After a season dogged by hamstring, foot, back and groin injuries, he decided he'd had enough of English football and left for Barcelona.
As for details about the game, there's not much to go on yet. Konami promises a revolutionary new Teamvision artificial intelligence system – something that will monitor your players' movements, and adapt accordingly – as well as better graphics and closer ball control.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is due to arrive on DS and PSP during the autumn.
