First Press Games has announced the official launch of POWA! for GameBoy Color, letting players dive into a retro action platformer experience that's backward-compatible to GameBoy Classic. The new game by aiguanachein tasks players with helping Powa! return to the village across multiple levels and four different worlds.

In Powa!, players can enjoy an 8-bit adventure in GameBoy Color, Super GameBoy and original GameBoy (DMG) with a lovely score from sergeeo playing in the background. You'll have to brave big boar bosses charging at you, underwater levels (don't worry - you have some snorkeling gear on), deadly spikes you have to avoid at all costs and random enemies who are all out to get you. The game boasts a cool cover and box art (along with in-game graphics) by Ivan Miguel, plus actual physical copies you can get your hands on in the official shop.

If you're eager to get a feel of the gameplay, you can download a demo of Powa! on the official website to try out the first six levels of the game. There is no intro in the demo version (there's no way to select the difficulty of the game either), but the full version lets you pick your difficulty and experience the full intro.

If you're not familiar with the game at all, you can take a little sneak peek at the embedded trailer above to get a feel of the title's retro vibes. You can join the community of followers over on the official Twitter page to stay updated on all the latest developments as well.
