Like all good children's stories, Pet Alien has a simple premise; a 13-year-old boy called Tommy Cadle lives with five aliens in a lighthouse.

Induced by current political headlines you could be fooled into thinking Master Cadle lives on the Kent coast with Polish chums, Bronislaw, Elzbieta, Fabian, Isabela and Jerzy. At least, if that were the case he'd have running water in every room and excellent wooden furniture to sit on.

But no, these aliens are much more… er… alien.

There's burping and farting alien Gumpers, the parrot-like Flip, an only-cares-about-himself sort of alien called Swanky, dog-like alien Scruffy, and the leader of pack, Dinko.

Naturally, this being an animated TV show, there's also a range of other supporting characters such as Tommy's archrival Melba Manners and crazy old ex-sailor, Cap'n Spangley.

And, of course, this now also being a topdown adventure DS game based on an animated TV show, expect over 50 levels set inside a giant robotic spaceship to play through, as you use the five aliens' different abilities to save Tommy.

The style of gameplay is promised to be all-action with the occasional puzzle thrown in for good measure, and there will also be five stylus-heavy mini-games and bonus modes, including an unlockable jukebox and photo gallery, too.

Pet Alien is being published by The Game Factory and is due for release in summer 2007.
