Some juicy details on the 3DS edition of PES 2011 have just been announced at a press event in Amsterdam.

Konami, describing PES 2011 3D as the 'first 3D football game ever', showed off the game's revolutionary camera angles.

The main innovation is 'player view'. Centering the camera behind the player themselves, 3D allows for a depth and realism that should bring players into the match - making them feel like they're down on the pitch, in the thick of the action.

For players who favour a more conventional side-on view, 3D promises to simulate the scale and involvement of the football stadium, allowing you to feel like you're there in person, rather than cheering from your living room.

I bet there won't be pies, though.
