Here's a neat-looking game.

Developed by long term board, dice and card game company Wiggles 3D, Paper Bees is a defence title that looks to do something different with the genre.

Its basis premise has you protecting your hive from waves of insect attacks and across different levels (10 each in Meadow, Swamp and Ice worlds) until nightfall.

In time

The Paper part of the title comes from the paper-style art, and Wiggles 3D is also keen to highlight the audio, but what's most interesting seems to be the combo-based gameplay.

As you can see from the video below, the bee types you use to defend your hive have different attacks, each of which sustained for a certain period of time, creating the possibilities for chain reactions.

You also get power ups from friendly bugs; something else that plays into the overall strategy.

The game's actually been out for a couple of weeks, priced $1.99, €1.59 and £1.49 for iPhone and iPad.

It will be out for Android at soon point too.
