Out There: Rovio's Peter Vesterbacka can keep going all night

When it comes to merchandising, few in the mobile scene can hold a candle to Rovio.

The Finnish firm has lavished the market with Angry Birds products of all shapes and sizes – from babywear through to flash speaker sets, with the likes of Bad Piggies pork scratchings or Amazing Alex branded DIY outlets surely only a matter of time.

It says something, however, when one of the studio's leading lights is chosen as the face of a product that has no logical connection to any of Rovio's IP.

Indeed, you might even say that it suggests the likes of CMO Peter Vesterbacka are fast becoming household names.

Bean there, done that

As spotted by our eagle-eyed MD Chris James, Vesterbacka is now being used to front a brand of coffee in his native country, with the Rovio man endorsing Paulig's Kenyan blend in a print-based splash.

The Helsinki-based coffee and cocoa specialist Paulig, which was formed over 130 years ago in the Finnish capital, snapped up the Mighty Eagle – now forever to be known as the 'housewives' favourite' - to lead the ad campaign, with Vesterbacka also appearing in a video interview hosted by the firm.

We'd cast some more light on what he says in said interview (see below), though our Finnish is decidedly dodgy.

We can, however, reveal that, according to Google Translate, there's some kind of reference to the 'perfect pair' in the campaign in question – as if this story's headline wasn't suggestive enough.
