Gameloft reveals its first MMOG - Order & Chaos Online
Breaking out from premium model
When Gameloft VP of worldwide publishing Gonzague de Vallois told Pocket Gamer that the new generation of games it would be launching would cost seven figures to develop, we assumed he was talking about the next round of sequels - maybe N.O.V.A. 3 and Modern Combat: More Guns.
Instead, the publisher has revealed its first massively multiplayer online game.
Called Order & Chaos Online, and looking rather like Blizzard's World of Warcraft from the initial trailer, it's coming to iPhone, iPod touch and iPad soon.
Fight for the rightIt will enter an already busy market. For example, Spacetime Studios Pocket Legends MMOG has been live for almost a year, and is now available on Android as well as iOS.
Indeed, the developer says going cross platform is crucial for such games as Android gamers are three times as active and 50 percent more lucrative than iOS. At the moment, it's generating around $6,000 daily across the two platforms.
