Game industry unites for One Special Day 2018
Supporting inclusion in video games
Today is an important day for inclusion in the industry. Many of the largest names in the gaming world are set to come together to support gamer charity SpecialEffect in their goal of transforming the lives of gamers with disabilities.
The event – One Special Day – is now in its third year and continues to see great success. Some of the supporting partners this time around include SEGA, Electronic Arts, Codemasters, and Logitech. Once again, they will be donating a day of their UK revenue to help the charity get more people with disabilities involved in, and enjoying, video games.
Other fundraising events for the charity are also taking place across the UK, including the One Special Day Humble Bundle which you can pick up now.Thank you to the magnificent @SEGA_Europe team for their #OneSpecialDay Cyclolthon as they cycled the equivalent of London to the @SpecialEffect games room and raised £3K in the process! pic.twitter.com/glLTE8dIhX — SpecialEffect (@SpecialEffect) 27 September 2018
On mobile specifically, anything you buy in Clash of Clans or Clash Royale will go towards the charity, along with CSR Racing 2, Two Dots, Angry Birds 2, and more.
It's always incredibly heartening to see events like these become so successful. Our shared passion for video games is still doubtlessly capable of bringing us together, inspiring positivity, and generating change.
