Yoshi's Switch game gets a title and release window

The long-awaited Yoshi game on Switch finally announced its release window, as well as its title at the most recent Nintendo Direct. Now called Yoshi's Crafted World, it will be available on the Switch in Spring next year.

From the looks of the trailer the game bears some resemblance to the Wii U and 3DS game Yoshi's Woolly World, but instead of Yoshi wandering around a land made entirely made of yarn, he now gets to explore a place made of all sorts of crafting materials. Cardboard, paper, buttons, and foil are just some of the materials that are used to construct this imaginative, colourful world.

The game is also playing around with perspective mechanics, you can turn levels upside down, move from the foreground to the background, and even play the whole level backwards (Can you really call that a side scroller then? Hmm…). And of course, Yoshi still has his classic ability to gobble enemies up, turn them into eggs, and throw those eggs around.

Plus, you can play the whole game with a friend in a co-op mode. Although the game does look a bit similar to Yoshi's Woolly World, there is enough new stuff being introduced that I'm looking forward to its release.

You'll be able to explore Yoshi's Crafted World when it is released on the Switch in Spring 2019.
